Small-scale coffee farming is increasing in Dhankuta, and we plan to expand and work with more farmers each year. We provide them with training and guidance to benefit our long-term partnership.

We aim to empower our community of 451 small coffee farmers through coffee plantations and business. We are a member of the District Coffee Association which is associated with the Nepal Coffee Producer Association.

The cool climate of the mountain air and forest shade trees bring out the best in coffee and other crops. D.S. Agro grows, sources and processes coffee, trains farmers and supplies them with bio-organic fertilizer for organic coffee production.

We have also built a well-planned coffee nursery to supply high quality Arabica seedlings to coffee farms in eastern Nepal.

D.S. Agro is small but we are growing with strength and dedication, from 1 ton in 2021 to our goal of 10–15 tons. Our aim is for our coffee plantation to cover 25 hectares of land and produce 500,000 nursery plants each year.

In the industry, we would like to see increased government support and involvement in the promotion of coffee production. As well as an increase in coffee quality and quantity.

Cultivating coffee for future generations

D.S. Agro Industries Dhankuta is a model coffee farm high up on the mountain slopes of eastern Nepal. Our single origin Bourbon and Typica Arabica is grown under shade using organic agricultural practices. The coffee we planted here six years ago is coming into full production now.

values

Maintain sustainable farming, this is a core value for us as a brand.

Continue our positive relationships with farmers so everyone can work in harmony.

Provide excellent customer service within the coffee value chain.

Remain accountability and strengthen our teamwork.

D.S. Agro’s vision is to expand globally by producing coffee from our highland.

We can also reduce poverty and create employment within indigenous communities through coffee farming.

Our goal is to be the lead coffee estate in Dhankuta (Province 1).

We are proud to be part of promoting and expanding the Nepali coffee sector, supporting job growth and opportunities for all.

We are dedicated to increasing the yield, production, and quality of coffee in our region. Small-scale farmers are best supported by  clustering and organizing them into district coffee producer associations.

Our Dhankuta association has transformed the lives of local coffee farmers by increasing market access and raising incomes. It collectively empowers them and makes communications easier with the coffee industry.
